This beautifully crafted wooden peacock consists of 22 chunky inserts that make up a vibrant tail fan. There are three sizes of feathers in seven colours, each with three shades, perfect for teaching colour recognition and developing fine motor skills and early mathematical concepts.
Children will love exploring the tactile feather pieces and putting them back in the correct slots, strengthening their spatial awareness and understanding of comparisons, sequences and patterns. This versatile puzzle is an ideal tool for exploring the language of colour, shade and tone, and also introduces early mathematical skills through sorting and counting.
Many children will enjoy repeatedly placing the feathers in and out of their recesses, which promotes hand-eye coordination and supports schematic play behaviours such as positioning. The feather pieces can also be used separately, extending play into creative, open-ended exploration.
